So I'm from Oklahoma and I moved to Missouri for college. This is my second year here and I still have like NO FRIENDS. I've been nice and outgoing but it seems like its impossible. Im beginning to think the problem is me. What should I do? I really want to meet people and make friends while I'm here at college.

Answer 1 :
Join a club. Join a program not related to school, but in the area. Thats what worked out with me
Answer 2 :
Wayne's answer was good. I'm positive it's not you. The farther north you get, the more unfriendly people are. No lie. I'm sorry about that. I'm sure you can find someone there that's halfway cool. Good luck.
Answer 3 :
Try and find one person in each class that you think is similar to you. This works great in classes that having study sessions is beneficial. You can ask the person if they want to get together before a test to review. You can even try and invite a few people in the class. Join a club... colleges offer clubs in everything from drama to astronomy to athletics and even fencing [yes, swords(epee)] and so on. Find something that is interesting to you. You will meet other people in that club that are interested in the same thing. Suggest after a meeting going to grab something to eat real quick or something along those lines. Lastly, look into a program run through the college like a Resident Assistant, a campus tour guide etc. Also a little part time job in the dining hall or someplace like that will introduce you a lot of different people and give you a chance to talk and make a little money at the same time. EDIT: "youknowmegan" I am originally from Chicago (lived there the first 27 years of my life) and now live in Texas. I take offense to the generalization that the further north you go the less friendly people are. There are as many rude, impersonable people down here as up there. I am (was) always friendly with people... even ones that think we're "rude"
